Who doesn't love the movie "The Holiday" with Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, and Kate Winslet? We've watched the 2006 film countless times in our sweet cottage, and that's why we named it after it. In 1699, needs, building materials, and floor plans were different than they are today. Today, a bathroom would certainly be built much larger, and the kitchen also has a different significance now compared to over 320 years ago. We invite you to put yourself in the shoes of people from the 17th century. The Siegbach region was characterized by hard work in the ore mines or in the fields. Living in a sturdy half-timbered house, protected from wind and weather, was something special – how proud the owners must have been! And who would have thought that the house would survive the centuries? We therefore lovingly renovated the house in 2021 and 2022, so that in 2022 it was awarded the monument plaque by the state of Hesse, which you can discover outside the house. Since 2023, we have been certified as a "Travel-Proud-Partner" on Booking.com, also with the highest sustainability level 3. We have received the "Guest Favorite" and "Superhost" awards from Airbnb. The German Tourism Association has classified our vacation home as "First Class" with 4 stars since 2024.
